Things to Know
Thinking of building a pool? Finding the right contractor for your project is the first step.
-
Many Homeowners start with an internet search and then make the mistake of reaching out to 10 or more builders. Although we highly recommend getting several bids, we would suggest limiting that to just a few builders.

-
Get references. Start by asking friends or family who built their pool or if they know someone they would recommend. If you don't have anyone to ask, then as you reach out to builders, ask them for references. When a builder has done multiple pools for the same person, that says a lot about their integrity and longevity.

-
Find out how long a builder has been in business. You want to find someone that will complete your project and be there in the event of a warranty issue.
-
Visit their showroom to make sure they are a real business.

-
Make sure to have a written contract (and read it). The contract should clearly outline the scope of work, timelines and payment schedule. Ask if they do written change orders.

-
Find out if they carry liability insurance and/or require their subcontractors to do so.

-
See if they are willing to provide subcontractor lien releases. Make sure all subcontractors that do work on your property are paid.

-
They should be easy to get a hold of and answer any of your questions.
With over 15 years of business, Triton Pools has built hundreds of pools throughout the Houston area. We can provide a long list of references (many of whom are Homeowners that we have built multiple pools for). We do everything in writing, including change orders, so that you have confidence in knowing exactly what you are getting. In addition, Triton Pools carries a $2M general liability policy to protect you, the Homeowner. All of our subcontractors must come to our office to get paid and sign lien releases. Working directly with the Owner of Triton Pools, you are assured to get all your questions answered. Come visit our showroom to see what we do!
